Polishing resin is generally used at the end of ultrapure water treatment systems to ensure that the system's effluent water quality meets the water use standards. The effluent water quality generally has a resistivity of 18.25MΩ or higher, and has a certain control ability over TOC and SiO2. Good polishing resin can achieve TOC <5ppb, silica <10ppb, resin models are MB-106up & MB-115, and the polishing resin ion type is H, OH type. It can be used directly after filling without regeneration, and is generally used in the semiconductor industry.

What is severe fouling of reverse osmosis membranes?

As a deep filtration method, reverse osmosis membrane elements inevitably have colloids, microorganisms, impurity particles, and the precipitation of sparingly soluble salts remaining on their surface. Therefore, reverse osmosis devices used in various fields ultimately require cleaning once put into use, although the cleaning cycle varies. However, online cleaning, as a means of cleaning, maintenance, shock sterilization, and regular protection of reverse osmosis systems, is powerless when faced with severe pollution of reverse osmosis membrane elements. In this case, offline cleaning of the reverse osmosis membrane elements is required.

How to deal with reverse osmosis membrane blockage

In reverse osmosis desalination systems, the selective permeability of the membrane allows water molecules to continuously pass through the membrane from the high-pressure side, while solute molecules remain in the original solution. This creates a concentration difference between the feed solution on the membrane surface and the inlet feed solution. In severe cases, a high concentration gradient can occur, a phenomenon known as concentration polarization. Concentration polarization increases the osmotic pressure of the feed solution, reduces the effective driving force, and causes a decrease in water permeation rate and desalination rate.
