Polishing resin function and filling method of ultrapure water equipment

Polishing resin is generally used at the end of ultrapure water treatment systems to ensure that the system's effluent water quality maintains the water use standard. The effluent water quality generally achieves a resistivity of 18.25MΩ or higher, and has a certain control ability over TOC and SiO2. Good polishing resin can achieve TOC <5ppb, silica <10ppb, resin models are MB-106up & MB-115, and the polishing resin ion types are H and OH types. It can be used directly after filling without regeneration, generally used in the semiconductor industry.

The following points should be noted during filling: 1. Polishing resin is a mixture of hydrogen-type strongly acidic cation exchange resin and hydroxide-type strongly alkaline anion exchange resin. 2. During operation, if water needs to be added for easy filling, pure water must be used. The water content should not be too high, and the water must be immediately removed or drained after the resin enters the resin tank to avoid resin stratification. 3. If resin needs to be filled manually, hands must be washed clean, and grease must not be brought into the resin tank. 4. If the resin needs to be replaced, the tank and collector must be thoroughly cleaned, and no old resin residue should remain at the bottom of the tank, otherwise these used resins will contaminate the water quality. 5. The O-ring seals used must be replaced regularly. At the same time, all relevant components must be checked each time they are replaced, and any damage must be replaced immediately. Check the collector for blockages and clear them if necessary. 6. When using FRP tanks (fiber reinforced composite plastic) as resin beds, the collector pipes (center pipe and water distributor) should be placed in the tank before filling the resin. During the resin filling process, the collector pipe should be shaken from time to time, and finally, the position of the collector pipe should be adjusted and the cover installed. 7. If the resin is filled first, it will be difficult to insert the collector pipe. If the resin must be filled first before inserting the collector pipe, the FRP tank filled with resin can be placed horizontally on the ground, the tank can be slowly rolled to loosen the resin, and then the collector pipe can be slowly inserted into the resin. 8. After the resin is filled and the pipelines are connected, the vent hole at the top of the tank should be opened first, and water should be slowly introduced until water overflows from the vent hole and no more bubbles are produced. Then, the vent hole should be closed tightly, and water sampling can begin.
If the water production is unstable after filling, the cleanliness of the pipeline connections or the airtightness of the nitrogen-sealed water tank can be checked.
