【 Summary Description 】We know that polishing resin is generally used at the end of ultrapure water treatment systems (process: two-stage RO + EDI + mixed bed) to ensure that the system's effluent water quality can maintain the water use standard. The effluent water quality generally can stably reach more than 18 megohms, and has a certain control ability over TOC and SiO2. The polishing resin is in H and OH ionic forms, and can be used directly after filling without regeneration. It is generally used in the semiconductor industry.

The effluent water quality can stably reach more than 18 megohms, and it also has a certain control ability over TOC and SiO2. The polishing resin is in H and OH forms, and it can be used directly after filling without regeneration, generally used in the semiconductor industry.

The following points should be noted when filling polishing resin:

1. Polishing resin is a mixture of hydrogen-type strongly acidic cation exchange resin and hydroxide-type strongly alkaline anion exchange resin.

2. During operation, if water needs to be added to facilitate filling, pure water must be used. The amount of water should not be too much, and the water must be immediately removed or drained after the resin enters the resin tank to avoid resin stratification.

3. If the resin needs to be filled by hand, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly and do not bring any grease into the resin tank.

4. If the resin needs to be replaced, the tank and collector must be thoroughly cleaned, and no old resin residue should remain at the bottom of the tank, otherwise these used resins will contaminate the water quality.

5. The O-ring seals must be replaced regularly. At the same time, all related components must be checked each time they are replaced, and any damage must be replaced immediately. Check the collector for blockages and clear them if necessary.

6. When using FRP tanks (commonly known as fiberglass tanks) as resin beds, the collector pipe should be placed in the tank before filling the resin. During the resin filling process, the collector pipe should be shaken from time to time, and finally, the position of the collector pipe should be adjusted and the cover installed.

7. If the resin is filled first, it will be difficult to insert the collector pipe. If the resin must be filled first before inserting the collector pipe, the FRP tank filled with resin can be placed horizontally on the ground, the tank can be slowly rolled to loosen the resin, and then the collector pipe can be slowly inserted into the resin.

8. After the resin is filled and the pipelines are connected, the vent hole at the top of the tank should be opened first, and water should be slowly introduced until water overflows from the vent hole and no more bubbles are produced. Then, the vent hole should be closed tightly, and water sampling can begin.

Precautions for the use and filling of polishing resin:

1. Polishing resin (Tulsion MB-106UP, MB-115UP) is a mixture of highly purified and converted H-type cation resin and OH-type anion resin. If using newly opened resin for the first time, during the filling operation, note that in the water production cycle, ultrapure water with a resistivity greater than 18.2MΩ and TOC less than 0.01ppm can be produced without chemical regeneration.

2. Therefore, once the package is opened, it should be used as soon as possible. Unused portions should be carefully sealed and stored in a dark, cool place, with an ambient temperature of 5-40℃. Resin exposed to air for a long time after opening will absorb carbon dioxide, thus affecting product performance and use.

3. During transportation, storage, and filling, contact with any inorganic or organic substances will contaminate the resin, thereby reducing the effluent water quality and affecting the operating conditions. The equipment and water used for filling and operation will not contaminate the resin.

4. If the resin is to be replaced, the old resin in the equipment must be completely removed from the resin container, and the inside of the resin container must be clean and free of impurities.
