Overview

EDI (Electrodeionization) is a membrane separation technology that organically combines electrodialysis and ion exchange. It integrates the advantages of continuous desalination by electrodialysis and deep purification by ion exchange resin, while overcoming the shortcomings of these two separation technologies. Electrodeionization (EDI) technology is a new type of membrane separation technology formed by the organic combination of electroosmosis and ion exchange. With the help of the ion exchange of ion exchange resin and the selective permeability of anions and cations by anion and cation exchange membranes, under the action of a direct current electric field, ions migrate directionally, thus achieving deep desalination of water. Because ion exchange, ion migration, and electrical regeneration of ion exchange resin occur simultaneously, it is like a mixed bed ion exchange resin column that works and regenerates at the same time, continuously producing high-quality pure water and ultrapure water.
This system uses EDI modules designed and manufactured in the United States. The modules have the following characteristics:

(1) Provides ultrapure water for the power, semiconductor, chemical, metallurgical, and general industrial sectors.

(2) Continuously produces ultrapure water with mixed-bed water quality.

(3) No acid-base regeneration of the mixed-bed resin inside the module is required.

(4) Ensures no water leakage.

(5) No brine injection or concentrate water circulation is needed, simplifying system design.
